Join us June 21 - 28, 2009 on this spectacular 8 day vacation, featuring a 7 day cruise aboard the spacious MSC Musica. Visit some of the most romantic ports in the world while traveling in luxury. A portion of the total CE credit available (10 hours) is given for self-study, i.e. reading materials & references mailed to registrants prior to lectures onboard the cruise.

certifuing that all courses relating to the scientific or clinical practice of dentistry are acceptable by
ADA(CERP) and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario.

Endodontics... the New Wave of Irrigation Techniques & Expanded uses of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate
The most recent advance in Endodontics that has initiated a teaching change at the University at Buffalo involves canal irrigation. UB School of Dental Medicine, Department of periodontics
and Endodontics faculty and Assistant Dean for Continuing Education, Dr. Eugene A. Pantera, Jr, discusses irrigating solutions, delivery systems, non-compatible materials and outcomes.

Pro RootTM has revolutionized what before were considered untreatable Endodontic errors. In addition to the treatment of root and furcation perforations, we will discuss the use of MTA for pulp caps in deciduous and succedaneous teeth, revascularization of immature necrotic teeth, at treatment for large pulp exposures. Learn about re-vascularization, techniques can be used for pulp caps, techniques that can be used for perforation repair, what devices are available for Endodontic irrigation, materials can be used safely for Endodontic irrigation and which irrigating materials and devices have a clinical or scientific basis for use.

Crown & Sleeve Coping Fixed Denture Prosthesis
Faculty discuss the technique of using telescopic linking fixed components in prosthetic restorations, presented as an alternative when conventional fixed prosthesis and/or implant restorations are not indicated. Learn about...1. An alternative restoration of structurally weak abutment teeth 2. Why this restoration has a built-in structural fail-safe mechanism and redundancy
Removal of Infected/Affected Dentin*
Review the topic of partial-complete removal of infected dentin in deep carious and subsequent remineralization of the dentin base.
*The alternative techniques for treatment of deep caries are reviewed and current literature is presented, suggesting incomplete removal of all infected dentin.
Class V Lesions & Defects
Faculty discusses cervical tooth defects, including etiology, diagnosis, treatment and consequences of treatment. Review the importance of early diagnosis and conservative treatment of cervical defects.

An Update on Children's Oral Health
Special guest faculty, Dr. Huw F. Thomas, Dean, School of Dentistry at the University of Alabama.
Review information on the etiology, prevalence and prevention of dental caries in children. Risk factors that predispose children to the disease will be thoroughly discussed with a particular focus on the mother-child dyad. Behavioral and socio-economic factors will be emphasized. Disease prevention mechanisms will be reviewed both from community and individual perspectives and the concept of the 'dental home' established. Finally, a program for an in-office infant oral health program is presented. Topics of discussion include:
