INDIVIDUALIZED ADVANCED EDUCATION PROGRAM

....for US and International Scholars and Dentists

The School of Dental Medicine through Continuing Dental Education provides individualized clinical and research programs for dentists interested in advanced study. Dentists from the US or other countries can enroll for as little as 1 to 2 months. The program can vary from one to twelve months depending on goals and interests. Since these programs are tailored for the individual, they can include one or more of the following areas:

  • Biomaterials
  • Endodontics
  • Esthetic Dentistry
  • Periodontics
  • Prosthodontics
  • Orthodontics

CLINICAL PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS

To participate in clinical programs, applicants must either :

  • Have a New York State license
  • Be licensed in another state or country. Those licensed in another state or country are limited to 90 days (180 half days) in clinical participation as part of their program.

CERTIFICATION

Following completion of the program, a Certificate of Participation is provided from Continuing Dental Education.

FEES

$2,500.00 per month. For participation in clinical activities, there are additional daily fees that cover liability insurance and clinical costs.

REMEDIATION and REQUIRED CE
The School of Dental Medicine, through the office of Continuing Dental Education, offers remediation opportunities for National and Regional Board Examinations, Board Review, the Office of Professional Discipline, need to complete required CE hours in a hurry, and other needs.

Specific faculty is identified and the remediation program is structured and scheduled to address the individual needs of the dental health care professional. The remediation may include a variety of experiences from directed study and seminars, to hands on mannequin treatment.

All remediation proposals and course work is completed with confidentially.Tuition varies according to the course of study. Participants have universily responded favourably to their experiences with this program.

INFORMATION FOR VISITING DENTISTS

COURSE LOCATION
Unless otherwise indicated, all courses are held at the University at Buffalo, School of Dental Medicine, Squire Hall, UB South Campus at the corner of Main Street and Bailey Avenue in Buffalo. View a map or Download a map

PARKING ON CAMPUS
Parking for visitors is limited to certain lots and metered areas. On weekdays, 7:00am to 3:00 pm, visitors may park in the Michael-Farber, in the Visitor Information Center, (see map) located off Bailey Avenue. There is an entry charge of $4.00 ($2.00 after 1:00pm) Parking on South Campus is free after 3:00 pm and on weekends.

UB Dental Alumni must show current membership card for free parking in Michael-Farber Lot. All other parking areas close to the Dental School are restricted. Vehicles parked illegally are subject to ticketing and towing. The University at Buffalo, CDE does not assume any responsibility for fines or towing fees. On weekends, free parking is available in all lots.

PARKING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
Is available in the Diefendorf Lot. Only vehicles having license plates for persons with disabilities, permits issued by a state municipality for persons with disabilities or temporary permits for persons with disabilities (issued through the Office of Disability Services, 25 Capen Hall, 716-645-2608), may utilize designated areas.
