Gems of the Baltic

tallninJoin us July 21 - 31, 2011, as we set sail aboard Holland America Line's five-star ms Eurodam for an exciting 10 day Northern Europe Cruise. Holland America Line was founded in Europe over 180 years ago, so they know the area well. HAL's 'uncrowded' Europe has the least number of guests and most spacious ships amongst major cruise lines sailing to Europe.

Ports of Call

Copenhagen, Denmark
Denmark's capital is sophisticated, saucy and friendly. Stroll the fairytale world of Tivoli Gardens to take in bright lights, castles that out-Disney Disney. See the city's 200- year-old Royal Palace, the lively Old Harbor-Hans Christian Andersen lived here. Salute the Little Mermaid, symbol of this light-hearted city.
Tallinn, Estonia
Medieval walls and towers still stand tall in Tallinn's Old Town. Stroll and shop along cobblestone streets, walk up to the Baroque palace in the Upper Town, look out over the red roofs to the Baltic below, drop in at Alexander Nevsky Cathedral to find inspiration in the gleaming mosaics and icons. Crisp, gorgeous linen is a local specialty - find yours at a small store near the town hall square.
St. Petersburg/Moscow
Peter the Great called St. Petersburg his "Window on Europe." For openers, there's the fabulous
Hermitage Museum at the Winter Palace, with its renowned art collection from Raphael to Rembrandt, Titian to Tintoretto. Other musts are the babbling fountains of Peterhof, and the Amber Room at Catherine's Palace, which words cannot touch. Make a flying trip to Moscow to view monuments from Soviet and pre- Soviet days: Red Square, the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum.
Stockholm, Sweden
There's so much to see in charming Stockholm, sprawled on 18 islands, often called the "Venice of the North." Cruise the sparkling waterways and navigate narrow, medieval streets. Watch the snappy changing of the guard at the Baroque Royal Palace and sail into Viking history with a visit to the awesome Vasa Museum. Work up an appetite so you can do justice to a lavish smorgasbord.
Kiel/Hamburg, Germany
A university town, naval base, important harbour and Germany's largest passenger port, Kiel offers the perfect blend of maritime lifestyle, urban charm, culture and history. It is also one of the most popular places to shop in the Baltic region. At the heart of the town, Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city. Its grand merchants' houses and magnificent promenades, international musicals, shopping malls and St. Pauli district give Hamburg a cosmopolitan feel. A touch of the exotic clings to the warehouse district and the city's trademark canals. With its many parks and gardens, Hamburg is also Germany's greenest city.
Warnemunde/Berlin
Inseparable from its modern history, Berlin decidedly features it. In the former Soviet/American/British sectors are the Berlin Cathedral, Checkpoint Charlie, Unter den Linden Boulevard and the stunning Brandenburg Gate. In the Western sector, browse the lively Kurfurstendamm for snazzy clothing stores, delicate hand-painted porcelain and a snack of beer and bratwurst.

Prosthodontics Redux: What we knew then, What we know now, and What it means... Presented by Charles W. Wilcox, DDS, MS, FAGD, FACP, FACD

We look for inspirational guidance when cases generate special concerns involving technically difficult environments. We look to make things simpler but fear that in so doing we have compromised the potential results.

Some of the areas to be discussed include:

Dr. Wilcox is Professor of Prosthodontics at Creighton University School of Dentistry. He received his DDS from University of Nebraska in 1972, his MS from the University of Texas and completed his Residency in Prosthodontics at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics. Dr. Wilcox retired from the US Air Force Dental Corp in 1995 when he joined the faculty at Creighton.
