RATIONALE
For practitioners committed to enhancing their patient's smile, appearance, oral and overall health, as well as their self-confidence...and seeking the highest standards of ethical conduct and responsible patient care...continuing education is essential.

The UB School of Dental Medicine, through Continuing Education programs, strives to disseminate the most current information on esthetic techniques, emerging dental technology, practice tips, materials, and infection control and management.

This continuum-style course provides a forum for discussion and review of a variety of esthetic-related topics. Faculty examine issues such as overcoming the perceived "barrier of cost" of esthetic dentistry, increasing awareness of advances in esthetic dental restoration, and the impact of finances, genetic factors, lifestyle, and eventual prognosis on the decision to pursue treatment.

THE LEARNING EXPERIENCE
The Practical Esthetic Dentistry Program is designed to introduce you to a wide variety of treatment methods. Since there is often controversy surrounding the newest techniques, a range of differing views will be presented whenever possible. Discussion periods will follow, allowing the clinicians to address questions and concerns. While concepts are still fresh, the Program will continue in the laboratory with hands-on sessions allowing first-hand experience with new materials and techniques discussed. This combination of verbal, visual and experiential teaching...all related to the same topic...contribute to highly effective learning.

Detailed handouts, when provided by faculty, outline the objectives and content of lecture presentations and hands-on session.
You will have ample opportunity to question the lecturers and to begin establishing an individual approach to specific dental problems under consideration.
